Avengers : Age of Ultron (2015)

The end of Phase Two comes packaged as another blockbuster get together between the whole of the MCU.

Written and directed once more by Joss Whedon and starring the all star Marvel universe of characters from Robert Downey Jrs Iron Man, Chris Evans Captain America to Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and introducing Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver), Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch), James Spader as the voice of Ultron and returning yet for the first time being seen on the screen, my favourite, Paul Bettany as the voice of J.A.R.V.I.S and also playing Vision.

If we thought Avengers was big they’ve doubled up their efforts for Age of Ultron.

Iron Man (2008)

In 2008 Marvel kicked off phase one of the Marvel cinematic universe with Iron Man. Directed by Jon Favreau and one of the blockbusters in Robert Downey Jrs comeback career the MCU blasted onto the big screens across the world bringing the Marvel world to life.

It was the start of what is now a runaway train of Marvel movies and TV shows and introduced the biggest personality in the Marvel universe, the charismatic Mr Tony Stark.

Captain America The First Avenger (2011)

We start the Marvel week off with the event that happened furthest back. The birth of Captain America.

The film was released back in 2011 and introduced us to Steve Rogers, Agent Peggy Carter, Red Skull and Hydra as well as Tony Starks father Howard Stark.

The film spawned the TV show earlier this year Agent Carter which followed Peggy’s life after the war.

I’m also happy to be reviewing it as it is one of my top 10 favourite films of all time.

Marvel Universe Assemble

This whole month we celebrate the MCU. With the second Avengers film coming out, Avengers : Age of Ultron, we have decided to dedicate the whole of April to one of the biggest film forces at the moment.

We will review each film including Guardians of the Galaxy, have blogs talking about each and every one of the Avengers as well as some other memorable characters and on each weekend of the month a member of the blog will take over to tell you their favorites and what they love about the MCU.

With this build up you might think we’ll all rush to the movies to see Avengers : Age of Ultron, and one or two of us might. Unfortunately there is no concrete time period for a review of the new movie but we took it as a chance to do something special.

We will start tomorrow with our review of Captain America : The First Avenger.

Agent Carter : Now is Not the End

Hayley Atwell returns as Agent Peggy Carter in Marvels first big push towards a female protagonist.

One of many reasons why Captain America The First Avenger was such a brilliant film was his relationship with Peggy, not only because it was a great relationship full of mutual respect and admiration but because Steve Rogers just so happened to fall in love with the one women who wasn’t going to sit by and let men tell her what to do.

The series follows Peggy after the war. What happens when it all ends? In a world still dominated by men what is next for Peggy?
