I’m a sucker for Christmas time and am happy to share with you the places I’d love to and do in my head spend my Christmas.
The next installment of the Fantastic Beasts series of films takes us away from the Fantastic Beasts and focuses more on one human and the destruction he is probably going to cause in the future films.
With Newt, Tina, Jacob and Queenie all returning as well as a young Dumbledore, The Crimes of Grindlewald promises so much.
One of the things I love most about Harry Potter, as you can maybe tell, is the fact that there is so much you can debate about the series even years after the final book was published.
A topic close to my heart, even though I am a Ravenclaw, is the sad story of Slytherin.
The house that is, not Salazar Slytherin.
(This ended up being a lot longer and rambling then I meant it to be. I was reading a lot of Slytherin based discussions on Reddit and it just was a lot of different opinions about Slytherin that came to my mind. This post probably makes 0 sense but it ended up being 3000 words long and I felt I owed it to myself to post it instead of just delete it. I worked hard on it for about 3 hours people.)
Here I got talking about Dumbledore again. He seems to be a character I tend to talk about a lot and once wrote a piece on why I had beef with the former Headmaster of Hogwarts.
This piece isn’t really about him I guess but the news that Dumbledore’s sexuality/relationships will not be explored in the new Fantastic Beasts movies.
A new feature on the site is going to be our Perfect 10 series where we list our top 10 of some rather random things.
To begin with we will look at the top 10 Fantasy Worlds I’d personally want to live in, taken from my favourite books and video games old and new I give you a look into my strange world… Or at least a look into the strange worlds I wish I was in.
This might seem like it is coming out of nowhere but I’ve just finished reading Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone for possibly the millionth time and not for the first time in my life something bothered me about Dumbledore.
After reading all the books I realised it could really turn you off a guy….
(QUICK NOTE : Obviously not to be taken too seriously so back off Dumbledore fangirls.)
The last time I broke a big rule?
You might find this hard to believe but I don’t think I ever have! I’m a bit of a goody two shoes if I’m honest. There isn’t anything I can think of off the top of my head. It sound really stupid but there just really isn’t anything I’ve ever done that applies.
Now small rules here and there of course I’ve broken from time to time!
I’ve phoned in sick when I wasn’t just so I can skip work and go to the movies or a book signing. I skipped classes at school because I found them boring. I sit too close to the TV from time to time. I don’t always look where I’m going whilst crossing roads. I don’t even hold a adults hand when crossing a road anymore! I talked to strangers as a teenager, I don’t pay attention to my drinks on a night out…….
Actually none of those are really breaking rules they are just me being ditzy.
I feel like my life is actually pretty boring. Maybe I should do something really rebellious before I die? Then again I don’t want to do something I’ll get into trouble for!
Oh the life of a goody two shoes!
This has all just reminded me of Hermione Granger.
“Now, if you two don’t mind, I’m going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed or worse… Expelled!”
Yes I was that kid at school even though I did skip a few classes here and there. I’d rather do as I was told then get into trouble and its carried on into my adult life. Does that make me really boring? I sound so old.
“Mr and Mrs Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.”
Yes my favourite book series of all time is the magical world of Harry Potter and the first book, The Philosophers Stone, will forever be my favourite book in the world.
There are so many things I love and hate about the world JK Rowling created and so many characters that I fell in love with. I remember waiting up till midnight to go get the books, dragging everyone I could to go see the movies three or four times, always dreaming about what house I’d be put into if I went to Hogwarts and fancying the pants off of Neville in the books AND Matthew Lewis in the movies.
Like most people of my age it was a giant part of our up bringing. The books made reading cool once more, the films became what we lived to see and everyone knew everything about it even if they didn’t want to.
They came at a time in my life when I’d stopped reading because kids books were too childish and my school didn’t really care whether you read or not. If it wasn’t for these books I would never have really carried on reading so they mean the world to me.
Whats the first line of your favourite book? I think one of the funniest things is looking at lines out of context and trying to figure out what the book is about! I mean with this line you’d never actually know the magic that came afterwards so I’m interested in knowing what the first line of everyone else’s favourite books are! Let me know in the comments! It would be even more fun if you didn’t tell us where the line came from and we had to guess what book it is or what its about! Even if I’ve read it I probably will never guess!!!
