Just over a year ago, well last year in January, I went to Wellsprings in Taunton to see Kenny Omega fight Ultimo Tiger. This time I went to Wellsprings to see fellow Bullet Club member and absolute legend Cody Rhodes. To say this venue is becoming a very important one in my life is a understatement. This time out I was going to see UPW for the very first time too.
After Joe Hendry managed to win the WCPW Heavyweight Championship when they headed back to Edinburgh he decided to christian the event HendryMania.
You can only guess what the Prestige, three quarters of which are Scottish, get up to now they have the championship in their ranks.
We had a night in Falmouth the night before which was much fun but it was the big anniversary show in Exeter that I was truly looking forward to. With Impact superstars Bram, Rockstar Spud and Low-Ki all making appearances and all the top names for Pride appearing we were certainly in for a treat!
You might come on here and wonder why there are three WCPW reviews up in a row. Its because thanks to work, depression and just generally being a shitty person I’ve had the Scottish Qualifiers for the World Cup and nearly the entirety of State of Emergency in my drafts for over a month. I don’t know why I didn’t post the Scottish Qualifiers but State of Emergency I watched everything but the main event before work one day then never caught up with the main event!
No Regrets is late as well thanks to working and not getting online properly until today.
So you get three very late reviews all at the same time. You are welcome you very lucky people.
Commentary by Matt Striker and Jim Cornette for WCPW’s debut in the states. Taped during the WrestleMania weekend it saw a great line up.
