Yes I’m well aware I forgot to write a opener for the review, yes I’m aware that I’m a idiot. Week 2 of 5* wrestling reviewed below because its 1:40am and I can’t think of anything witty to say.
Well the 5* Wrestling, 3 hour long televised shows started today and I watched along on the Prestigious Ones Twitch Stream (that is Joe Hendry for those who don’t know) and thought I might as well give my review on it. I mean it isn’t like we’re doing anything else this week!
After a successful trip to Penzance for Pride & Glory Pride returned with a packed line up…
Just… It didn’t quite work out the way they planned and all the big name superstars got stuck up in Milton Keynes or some such place and Pride had to change it all up. These things happen.
(Warning : I do apologise if certain things don’t make sense. I did my final edit at 2am after hardly getting any sleep anyway after the event so if I’ve changed things and it makes no sense I’m sorry…)
Two amendments. Happily I’ve been told no one did leave the show which is always a big positive and happy to hear it as it was a brilliant evening!
Secondly, I am a bear of small brains, and I don’t even know what I was writing (as I said above in the original warning) in no way WHATSOEVER did I mean I was upset I was going to CPW in October and not Pride. I’m sad I won’t see Pride’s wrestlers of course because I love them but I am over the moon that my personal issues have subsided and I will be going to CPW/LEP’s Super Show. I apologise completely for the poor wording and any upset it may have caused as it honestly wasn’t how I feel and I’m just a idiot plain and simple.
Only two weeks after their big RVD show in Taunton, Pro Wrestling Pride were back with another card full of championship matches, wrestling legends and some rather special guests.
It was up on the Minibus from Plymouth to Paignton for Heroes & Legends 3.
So as I know that James likes to be kept up to date with things, I’ve not been able to really keep up with anything this week as I’ve been busy so here is a handy guide of everything Pro Wrestling Pride have announced this week.
If you can get to Paignton next weekend you might want to go follow their Facebook page and Share, Like and Comment on this post :
You have till Monday to do it, so get too it. Feel bad I didn’t share it beforehand but as I said I’ve been extremely busy.
So we’ll start obviously by talking about that show and the match announcements for it…
Pride return to Taunton, last time we were there in January we got to see Tiger vs Omega, still one of my favourite matches of the year so far, the living legend Tatanka as well as a whole bunch of other great matches.
This time we’re here to see the Whole F’N Show Rob Van Dam.
If you weren’t there you missed out.
1/ I am fully aware I missed April. No reason why, I just completely forgot about it until mid-way through May and decided there was no point doing it then.
2/ You might have guessed I’m patchy at best at watching anything but my local companies so will only be doing it based on the Pride/Plymouth/Chaos shows I’ve been to this month.
Oh I guess there is another thing…
There haven’t been any female wrestling in the four shows I’ve been to so we’ll skip it for a month (another month.)
So below you’ll see what I have to choose from. Its a hard month to pick winners from.
June 26th in Taunton was already looking like a great night what with Scotty Essex vs RVD and the Four Team Ladder Match but two more matches (well one confirmed) were announced in a evening of announcements.
(I did warn you I might do it more often… Its exciting though. Get excited.)
First up the confirmation that Eddie Ryan will be facing Big Grizzly for the title…
Honestly I don’t think Ryan is going to lose this time, I know I said it before Penzance but the guy has been having a incredible year so far and I just don’t see Grizzly being able to put him down. Grizzly has had some great bouts but as much as he knows Ryan’s limit Ryan now knows his too. Its going to be a show stopper.
Then the one remaining member of the Soul Society without a match (Keizer and Sixx are in the tag team match) Charlie Garrett has been announced as the opponent for Mr Anderson…
The Soul Society got a big win this weekend against Andrews, da Silva and Jones. Garrett also won his first match as a member of the Soul Society back in Penzance with Keizer against Johnny Kidd and Danny Jones.
Unless Anderson has someone watching his back he has potentially two guys at ringside to contend against as well as Garrett who probably is the biggest threat in the Soul Society at the moment. Keizer is a great leader and has brought a great team together a win over Anderson could really turn some heads.
That is four HUGE matches announced for this event. You can still get your tickets for it on their website…
I mean with just those two matches why wouldn’t you go?
So it has been announced. September 4th Pro Wrestling Pride will be returning to the great city of Plymouth (only great because I live here of course…) with special guest Raven.
They have moved homes from the Holiday Inn which homed both their Hurricane and Rock ‘N’ Rollas event and will now be in the Guildhall which is a fantastic venue. For most of us who grew up down here our love for wrestling as kids ended up with us going to watch wrestling in the Guildhall. In fact funny thing was on the train back from their event on Sunday Karla suddenly said that she remembers going to see the Bushwhackers in the Guildhall, a event I remember really well myself.
Follow them on Facebook for more news and stuff….
Lets face it… I have now said nearly every single event they won’t be able to top it and they manage to do so. Carlito, Benjamin, Suzuki, Dragon and Kidd in Penzance. RVD and Anderson in Taunton. Scotty 2 Hotty, Hornswoggle, PJ Black, Williams and Hardcore Holly in Paignton. Now Raven and Williams in Plymouth? These guys are seriously killing it this year.
Of course all the favs will be there too and its well worth the price of the ticket just to get to see guys like Eddie Ryan, Big Grizzly, Ultimo Tiger (especially Tiger…), House of Bones, The Soul Society, The Magnums and Scotty Essex anyway. By the end of the first match you’ll have your moneys worth everything else is just a bonus.
So if you can get to Plymouth or if like me you live here, get your tickets.
The final part of my birthday weekend saw a trip to Teignmouth to see Pride. I mean no weekend is complete without going to see them and all the weekends without a Pride show kinda end up being pretty boring.
After a eventful trek to Chaos the day before it was nice to not have a three hour travel distance to go see wrestling.
With Johnny Gargano and Bram on the card it was going to be a great night.
