We tried our best to remember how much we liked certain TV shows, I do apologise if its obvious we’ve missed something out!
The story of Peggy Carter, a women in a mans world started back in Captain America : The First Avenger and has now spawned into a TV show chronicling her life after the war.
We start the Marvel week off with the event that happened furthest back. The birth of Captain America.
The film was released back in 2011 and introduced us to Steve Rogers, Agent Peggy Carter, Red Skull and Hydra as well as Tony Starks father Howard Stark.
The film spawned the TV show earlier this year Agent Carter which followed Peggy’s life after the war.
I’m also happy to be reviewing it as it is one of my top 10 favourite films of all time.
This whole month we celebrate the MCU. With the second Avengers film coming out, Avengers : Age of Ultron, we have decided to dedicate the whole of April to one of the biggest film forces at the moment.
We will review each film including Guardians of the Galaxy, have blogs talking about each and every one of the Avengers as well as some other memorable characters and on each weekend of the month a member of the blog will take over to tell you their favorites and what they love about the MCU.
With this build up you might think we’ll all rush to the movies to see Avengers : Age of Ultron, and one or two of us might. Unfortunately there is no concrete time period for a review of the new movie but we took it as a chance to do something special.
We will start tomorrow with our review of Captain America : The First Avenger.
I feel like I am doomed to never catch up, I hit the half way mark in the series with my last review and of course this week saw the penultimate episode air, I’m still two episodes behind with only one left to go. I do apologize that I couldn’t do it any better then this.
We see what wreckage can be salvaged from the Stark emotional rollercoaster car crash from last episode.
We hit the half way mark on Marvels Agent Carter. A shame the series is only running for 8 episodes.
My impression of the first two episodes has been OK but with more room to grow. The characters are interesting and the main plot point of trying to prove Howard Stark’s innocence gives the cast plenty of adventures to go on. Personally I’ve found them slow going, but with such a wonderful cast headed by Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter and her trusted sidekick James D’Arcy as Jarvis who can’t enjoy the show?
