The Great F1 Dream #12 : Dream vs Reality (Story Blog*)

My eyes hurt.

My legs hurt.

I hate the humidity we’ve had lately and I hate the sun. I’m the only one that does hate it. My room is stuffy but it is the only place at the moment where I feel comfortable. The room next door has a fan in it but I’d have to sit in an uncomfortable chair and downstairs is cool but we still haven’t tidied up after my sister left home.

So I’m sat in my tiny bedroom on my tiny bed with Mack staring at me from atop of Pork Rock and a range of drinks next to me to battle the migraine brought on from heat and exhaustion through the day trying to remember what it is I was meant to be doing!

The Great F1 Dream #11 : McLaren Mercedes

Ferrari and their 878 race starts was our topic last time. This time we’ve got McLaren and their 751 race starts (757 races.)

The British team was founded by New Zealander Bruce McLaren and is the second oldest Formula One team active at the moment (only being beaten by Ferrari.)

So from their first race at the 1966 Monaco GP to their latest race lets talk McLaren?

The Great F1 Dream #10 : Remembering….

Something that sets off my anxiety quite badly is remembering things and worrying that nothing will be the same again in the future. Whilst things always have to change sometimes the change is so big that I can’t believe that I’ve lived through them.

It gets to the point where you can remember what it was like before and you know it is completely different and it is like living two separate lives light years apart.

I’ve said it a lot of times but for a change I’m really going to talk about what really got me into the online F1 fandom to begin with.

My Bruno Senna Fan Forum.

German Grand Prix Preview

This week we’ll be going 67 laps of the Hockenheimring for the German GP!

Germany was only allowed to hold sporting events after 1951 and held the title of the European GP four times between ’54 and ’74.

Hockenheim itself holds the German GP biennially, switching with the Nürburgring, it was last held (duh…) in 2012. It is pretty much completely flat. Ohhh do I love Hockenheim…

Alonso vs Vettel : The Silverstone Edition

Yes because I’m woefully behind thanks to work this is coming quite late in the day. But after the minor….. Minor success we had with a poll before we thought we’d start another debate with a week till the next race.

So the question up for discussion is Alonso vs Vettel.

It was fun to watch, I loved it even if my driver came out behind in the end. I also loved the team radio. I know some people wanted them to shut up and race but personally I loved that we got to see their passion WHILST they raced. Cause usually the person doing the whining is usually whining and not really attacking or if they are then they aren’t getting anywhere so pull back, this time they were fighting corner to corner, trying to out drag each other and out break each other WHILST complaining on the team radio about each other.

I thought it was great!

I loved hearing them getting irate with each other and showing their skills on the track.

So our two polls this week :

First up, DO YOU THINK THE RACING WAS FAIR?

I mean that was both of their complaints really wasn’t it? That the other one was using too much of the track or racing unfairly one way or the other. If you choose no please feel free to comment on the blog to let us know which of the two drivers you don’t think was driving fairly!

Secondly, DID YOU THINK THE TEAM RADIO MESSAGES WERE TOO MUCH OR DID YOU ENJOY THEM?

As I said sometimes I agree that moaning about a situation that you have to get yourself out of is silly but personally this time I liked hearing the drivers whilst they were fighting. Even if their points were a bit pointless…

It will be interesting to see how people feel about the whole thing because I personally thought it was the greatest part of what was a great GP in general!

The Great F1 Dream #9 : Scuderia Ferrari

This week we’ll take a look at the oldest Formula One team on the grid.

Ferrari was racing in Formula One before Formula One was invented! They are the only team to have raced in every season of the Championship, they missed the opening round (the 1950 British Grand Prix) but showed up at the Monaco Grand Prix (what a GP to debut with!) with Alberto Ascari and Gigi Villoresi.

The Great F1 Dream #8 : Fed Up

*****JUST A REMINDER, THESE BLOGS, THE ONES THAT FALL ON THE FIRST TUESDAY OF THE YEAR, ARE FICTIONAL BLOGS. THEY ARE THE FUNNY SIDE WITH PLOTS AND TWISTS TO FOLLOW THE BLOG ON TRYING TO GET INTO FORMULA ONE. SOME OF THE VIEWS, FEELINGS AND ALL OF THE SCHEMES ETC ARE FICTIONAL AND UNLESS STATED ANYWHERE ELSE ARE ONLY IMPORTANT TO THE STORY OF THE MONTH FOLLOWING THE PRETEND ME!******

After another hard day I sit here and put the race on.

Sitting about watching it reminds me of all the dreams I had. At one point I wanted to be a driver then realized I’d have to actually drive something to be a driver (by that time I was a bit old to get into it,) then I wanted to be a reporter but that didn’t work out, especially after I decided to do History as a A-Level instead of media!

Now I work in a shop…..
