Angry Birds (2016)

Angry Birds as you probably are all aware was a hit mobile game that took the world by storm. For people like me who has no patience with games like that the whole craze might have passed you by but even I had to raise a eyebrow and wonder how a game about throwing birds at pigs was going to be turned into a movie.

In 2016, and in the US on my birthday no less, Angry Birds was out in cinema’s and with a fantastic voice cast and a soundtrack full of some of my favourite country singers.

The Stanford Prison Experiment (2015)

Based on the study of the same name the film gives us a real look into the Stanford Prison Experiment in the 70s were a bunch of students were, by a coin flip, separated into the roles of guards and prisoners and left to simulate a prison environment for two weeks.

Starring Ezra Miller and Billy Crudup and released back in 2015 it is a actual look not only at the experiment itself but the mindset behind the people running it.

The BFG (2016)

Roald Dhal’s classic film hits the big screen with a brand new adaptation from the genius that is Steven Speilberg. The BFG was one of the very first books I learnt to read and one of the very first books I fell in love with.

Growing up we didn’t just have the book though we had a wonderful cartoon adaption which brought the Big Friendly Giant and Sophie to life.

Now we have a new BFG and its bound to be magical right?

Beauty and the Beast (2017)

So the next installment in Disney’s live action remakes of their cartoons see Emma Watson, Luke Evans and Dan Stevens bring the Tale as Old as Time to life in all its beauty.

I’ve not been a fan of the live action films but Beauty and the Beast is by far one of my most favourite films of all time and with it being a true live action remake I was looking forward to seeing just how well the story looks in live action.
