“Wesurā × kakeru shōkan” (レスラー×召喚)
I might not be watching wrestling at the moment but just the description of this insane anime about a wrestler transported to another world (yeah there are a lot of those this season) made me happy.
So this is our return to wrestling reviewing.
Kemono Michi : Rise Up!
I was not actually ready for what I got if I’m honest.
It is the weirdest thing I’ve watched all year, one of the weirdest things I’ve ever watched and I’m not sure if I find it hilarious or just a little bit disturbing.
Either way it is a bit of a twist on the type of tale we’re used to as the main character Genzo doesn’t just refuse to be the hero that the country wants but suplexes the Princess for daring to tell him that his job would be to kill animals.
This is where I’m not sure how I feel about it.
The episode to be fair walked a fine line between being too over the top for me and being funny, it is a show I can see myself falling out of love with fast but at the moment I think I’m so surprised by what I’ve been watching that I don’t really know how I feel right now.
He’s in love with animals?
Or he just wants to be friendly with them?
I’m not sure and I think the definition of his love for animals is going to be where I either draw the line or enjoy it.
For a first episode a lot happened whilst nothing also happened.
We got to know Genzo well enough, he’s a idiot.
Like that is pretty much it.
The guy was summonded to another world in his wrestling gear and thinks people are going to be helpful to him if he takes his mask on but not put on trousers. Like he is a idiot.
His relationship with his dog is kind of cute and I really liked what I saw of Shigure, she seems to be a pretty cool character all things considered.
I really don’t know.
If you like ridiculously bizarre anime then this is definitely one for you, if not then you might want to get as far from it as possible. Right now I’m not really sure as I keep saying but I’m sure I’ll figure it out soon.
