“Shingeki no Kyojin” (進撃の巨人)
Grisha is a dick and now Grisha has a choice to make and obviously being a dick Grisha doesn’t want to make it.
Grisha doesn’t really have a choice though. He has done everything he’s done because he just didn’t understand the world he’s in and whilst what he was doing was noble, no nation should hold another one to ransom or treat its subjects like shit, he was also hidden from any pain or suffering until now.
Now he decides that he doesn’t want that pain and suffering but he’s convinced into doing so not that he had much of a choice.
So many things were learnt in this episode like the fact that anyone with one of the 9 Titans powers only has 13 years to live which is probably the reason that Grisha passed down his powers to Eren instead of being there for him.
Now though the world has to go on and the present day players have to move forward and figure out what they are going to do with the things that they learnt from Grisha’s diaries.
It is hard to figure out what it is that anyone seems to want really. What is there to do going forward?
They know the history as told by both sides, the fact that the King renounced fighting and that is why anyone in the Royal Family who takes the power won’t actually go to war because they know that the true King wanted peace. It is a interesting concept to have peace being passed down instead of suffering and need for revenge.
It also brings up the question why?
If the Titans were super powerful, if the Titans were the good guys then why did the King decide against fighting? What would make him decide to hide his people and renounce war instead of just wiping out the entire world? The Owl says that the threat of having the Titans trample the world to the ground if anyone threatened the walls is a empty threat, or that was what I got from it, and from what we’ve seen they are dormant and incapable of moving I guess unless someone with Royal blood is able to move them.
It is interesting though.
I liked that the Owl kind of said what I said in the last episode. The fact that two sides have two stories and other people have more stories of how the Titans came to be so the truth has to be somewhere in the middle there. It’ll be interesting to see if they ever expand on it.
Wasn’t too happy that they couldn’t just leave Mikasa and Eren in prison for 10 bloody days. Heroes my ass.
Still a good episode though.
