5 Things… DEFIANT Wrestling Fight or Flight

So the next PPV in our catch up was Fight or Flight and here are our 5 stand out things from the show.

SIMON MILLER ON COMMENTARY

I missed James R. Kennedy BUT he was really good. LOVED his comment about the Bricks in the tag match also his concern for the barriers instead of the people being thrown into them and he just came across as being a sweet guy like he always does. I’ve always been more a fan of the Cultaholic lads even back when they were at WhatCulture but when he does stuff like this I can see why he is so loved.

Good commentators can make or break a show, they honestly can, Kennedy and Bradshaw are perfect together but Miller wasn’t a bad replacement and he definitely added a lot to the show.

DON’T MIND US BUT JOIN US IN NOVEMBER!

This show felt like a throwaway for the sake of having another iPPV between Stacked and Refuse to Lose. All the big matches made at Stacked are on Refuse to Lose so most of these felt thrown together and the dynamics that made Stacked so excited just wasn’t there.

Also not helped by constant reminders that in November there would be Refuse to Lose with all these MUCH MORE EXCITING matches.

Instead of making Fight or Flight something big they managed to make it feel small.

MARK DAVIS IS A BIG LAD

It is what it says it is. Mark Davis is a big lad and it makes me happy. He. Makes. Me. Happy.

ANTI FUN POLICE RAINING ON HAVOCS PARADE

Everything about Santos and Dunne coming face to face with someone like Havoc is a dream come true for me. The shriek across the ring when they saw that Havoc had found a new beer after taking his first off him just made me laugh, the two of them are ridiculous.

I think it is a great dynamic having these guys up against someone like Havoc who obviously goes against everything that the Anti Fun Police stand for… In the strangest way possible. Like I mean Jimmy Havoc is having fun and we’re having fun watching him but looking at what he does… Doesn’t look much fun. I like them all though.

EVERYTHING MISSED A BEAT

From poor matches, some things going too long and others feeling old and… Well…. Throwaway and ending with Rampage coming out just a beat too late on his music to make it dramatic and just made it boring waiting for him the night just didn’t work.

Whilst I’m still hyped for Refuse to Lose this isn’t a show you ever had to watch. It was just boring and whilst Walter/Davis and Anti Fun Police/Havoc&Haskins were all matches worth watching… They didn’t make up for the rest of the night.
