Tomorrow is that wonderful of days that we get to spend together with the ones we love eating too much and opening presents.
We have had a decent 2018 and in the spirit of giving here are 5 things I hope for you all tomorrow!
5. NO MATTER HOW YOU SPEND THE DAY OR WHAT YOU BELIEVE I HOPE YOU ARE HAPPY!
Not everyone who reads this is going to celebrate Christmas, I get that, but that doesn’t mean that December 25th can’t be a happy day for you all. Whether it is because you are full of Christmas cheer, you get a day off of work, you get a chance to catch up with someone or do something you’ve wanted to do but haven’t had a chance so use this day when others will be busy getting drunk and keeping out of your way to do it.
I hope no matter who you are or what you are doing that it makes you happy.
If you are one of the poor people working tomorrow I hope those you serve are kind and grateful that you are giving up your chance at a special day to make their day even more special.
4. CHRISTMAS TV DOESN’T MAKE YOU WANT TO KILL YOURSELF OR SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY!
We’ve all been there. Family members who insist on watching that same episode of bloody Only Fools and Horses every, damn, year no matter how much you bloody despise it.
I think here in the UK Christmas TV is a bit of a event.
No one is actually awake, alive or sober enough to truly enjoy it but you’ll sit and watch it anyway and complain loudly in your drunken food coma till the cows come home.
Some years though it can be a chore, specially if you are the one that has to be sober or the one that ends up watching something they just don’t want to deal with at that current moment in time. I hope that if you are forced to sit down in front of the tellybox there is at least something on that you enjoy and that you get some entertainment from it.
3. YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT FOREVER FOR YOUR FOOD!
I guess this comes from a personal thing that I’ve had in my life where it has felt like Christmas dinner came about 3 weeks after Christmas.
In general I hope you all have good food, lots of chocolates if you like them, lots of cheese if you like that, so much alcohol that you don’t know what to do with it and that you end up throwing up happily at the end of day.
As you should on Christmas.
2. THAT PRESENT YOU REALLY WANT!
I do honestly hope that even if it is the only thing you get that the one thing you really want is the thing that appears under your Christmas tree this year. Something that will make you smile, that will sit there in your life all year round making you realise that you are loved and cared for. Just that one thing that will make the day worth all the effort and stress the other four weeks of December brings.
1. YOU GET TO SPEND IT WITH THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE!
We all fight with our families and partners, some of us feel alone most of the year but I truly hope no matter who you are or what your circumstances are that you are surrounded by people who love you and that for one day of the year you can put aside all the pain and suffering you go through and feel a part of something important.
Also if you are reading this and know someone whose day you will make better just by sending them a simple message please do it. Sometimes just wishing someone well on this day, which can be hard for so many, will make such a difference all year long. It might be a meaningless 2 second thought of kindness from you to someone who means little to nothing in the grand scheme of your life but it could honestly make their year. Even just to add them to a spam message you wouldn’t normally add them too.
I guess the entire point of this is to wish that everyone finds at least one thing to smile about on December 25th that makes this entire year worth it for you. No matter who you are, where you are or what you are doing I hope you nothing but love and kindness tomorrow.
If you are alone and need someone to talk to then I believe Anna will be around on both her SnapChat and Twitter whilst spending time with her family. You can find her under Awerka on Twitter and Awerka89 on SnapChat. Try not to spend it alone dwelling on things if you need to reach out then please do.
Be nice to yourselves.
