With the Goblin village under construction it is time for the show to move in a different direction. They have everything they need to flourish so what next for Rimuru?
Making contact with humans and the “one he’s destined to be with” who would be the titled Shizu.
I really am unsure about the Shizu thing.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not completely against romance and stuff in my shows but Rimuru, unfortunately for me, is a character that doesn’t really deserve it. OK that sounds mean but he is such a stereotypical virgin boy and his interactions with girls is cringy as hell and I know I’m meant to laugh at it and I do get the joke but having him find his true love straight off the bat, her being this pretty thing he’s “destined to be with” is just too much for me. It made me roll my eyes during a scene that was actually pretty cute.
I get it, I really do, this type of joke just isn’t my thing but I kind of just wanted the destined to be with her stuff to maybe have a different meaning. We’ve all seen the opening credits where Rimuru has a human body that looks mighty like a female one and I’d rather he just have friends he went adventuring with. I know that his big regret was never having had a girlfriend and all that but I just don’t find that character type hilarious like others do and it ruins a bunch of moments in this by being totally over the top with it.
I loved Shizu and the three adventurers we met though. Shizu coming from WWII was interesting, learning about how she came to be and getting a glimpse of what happened to her when she got here was interesting and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next episode, because if there is one thing I’ve learnt about this series it is that it pretty much tells you just what is going to be the important thing the episode after.
The there adventurers are characters I really hope stick around. The constant squabbling of Eren, Kaval and Gido was hilarious and they are nice characters, they were grateful for being saved and looked after by the Goblins and were polite and just nice. It would be sad if they went.
Something else I love is the fact that removing Veldora from the cave has had such a big effect on the world. It makes the moment when Rimuru is able to free him even more interesting.
I don’t know, I don’t think I’m explaining my feelings on this episode very well.
Really enjoyed meeting the new characters, loved learning about Shizu and hope that the other three stick around. Didn’t so much like that this virgin boy who gets all excited about boobs has a “destined one” who he has met right off the bat and who seems to instantly like him too and kind of hoping that there is a twist to all this.
Like I enjoyed the episode a whole bunch but the entire virgin boy thing is getting on my nerves a whole bunch now. Which is a shame because other then that I love Rimuru!
