Lucha Underground S4E5 : Sacrificio

Mil vs Cage, more Sacrifices to the Gods and the Gods know what else. It is time for Episode 5 of season 4 of Lucha Underground.

CORTEZ CASTRO vs MATANZA CUETO
SACRIFICE TO THE GODS
Winner : Matanza Cueto

Like last week it was just a squash match that Antonio set up so that Matanza can murder someone and sacrifice them to the Gods (lights out, the body disappears) and become stronger.

Neither had much of a point to them but man does it make Matanza look scary.

JOEY RYAN vs IVELISSE
GIFT OF THE GODS MEDALLION MATCH
Winner : Ivelisse

This was a good match, Joey Ryan can be a great wrestler when he puts his mind to it and Ivelisse kicked his ass whilst avoiding the stupidity of Joey Ryan.

Sometimes Ryan can have a nasty side to him like the rubbing Ive’s face in the mat after finally putting her down, it goes hand in hand with the funny side like him claiming that three two counts gives him a six count meaning he won. Ive is just ridiculously talented and ran circles around him, she kept the speed up all match long and kept getting up no matter how hard Ryan hit her down.

Ending was fantastic, Ive walks out with the medallion and I couldn’t be more happy for her.

THE MACK vs KILLSHOT vs SON OF HAVOC
GIFT OF THE GODS MEDALLION MATCH
Winners : The Mack & Son of Havoc

I loved that Antonio decided to give out two Medallions, it very much from the beginning looked like this odd trio wouldn’t be staying together for long and Antonio’s stipulation gave Killshot the biggest character development it could possibly give him after his showing at Aztec Warfare. Yeah this team is dead in the water really.

So the stipulation was basically whoever was pinned was the one person who DIDN’T get a medallion and it came down to The Mack having to decide who to pin either Havoc or Killshot. After Killshot pinned The Mack in Aztec Warfare it makes sense he would get his own back on Killshot. Killshot is being pushed so hard right now though, he is so hot and this is all going to develop him into a even more dastardly, shady dick going forward.

Killshot was the highlight of the match, all the guys had their moments but Killshot just shone so much as he did in Aztec Warfare. I like the twosome of Havoc and Mack and all three are amazing but Killshot knew just when to come in and cause pain and was always focused on the prize. It was such a fast match but one dripping with storytelling. The bad blood bubbling in Killshot directed at Son of Havoc, that need to win and be the best and the respect that Son of Havoc and the Mack obviously have for each other which tipped the scale in the end leaving Killshot without a medallion.

Great match.

MIL MUERTES vs CAGE
GIFT OF THE GODS MEDALLION MATCH
Winner : Mil Muertes

Muertes and Cage are very similar yet very different. Their biggest similarity is purely that they are big and want to murder people. You didn’t want to bet against either man though I guess Cage might have had a little bit on Muertes, getting the first missed chance after Muertes took out a ref, soon there were just refs all over the place and the two of them continued to kick the hell out of each other.

It was just a really brutal match without being overly violent, it was hard hitting whilst he two big guys still managed to do some of the fancy pants fast paced movesΒ  when they wanted. It was chaotic but beautiful.

Cage loses because Pentagon interfered, before that it was hard to see who would get the upper hand. It is a bit sad because we didn’t truly see which one would have come out the victor but it also was just fantastic.

After the match Catrina refused to do the lick of death and walked away from Mils. Poor Mil. Poor sweet, innocent little Mil.

When he stormed out Pentagon told Cage not to worry about losing because he gets a championship match next week… Which kind of makes this entire match pointless seeing that Mil just literally won a medallion for the CHANCE to face the champion and the loser… Got a title match.

Who cares though? Who cares?

RABBIT TRIBE

They finally meet the White Rabbit who tells them to kill Mascarita, I liked the White Rabbit and will be interested to see what goes on with the now darker and more evil Rabbit Tribe. This whole thing is what I love about wrestling, Paul London in that hat and those glasses looked like the dude who played Wolf in 10th Kingdom, it is the mouth.
