Boku no Hero Academia Season 2 : Bakugo vs Uraraka

Episode 22

Bakugo vs. Uraraka (爆豪VS麗日)

The first real battle of the tournament looks about to happen. Will Uraraka be able to find something to make her stand out against Katsuki or will he breeze through?

It was a much more interesting match then I thought it would be. Katsuki himself points out it was the same kind of hare-brained scheme that Midoriya would come up with, she kept his attention on herself whilst she floated all the debris he made up into the air so that she can shower it on him. It wasn’t enough of a plan or a well thought out one, I think her weakness is that she thinks she’s weak. It will be interesting to see if she starts to work on strategy more in the future as the majority of her plan was OK but she was up against someone who is used to being in fights with guys like Midoriya.

The hero in the crowd pissed me off.

Like why the hell does it matter whether or not she’s a girl, its like this big thing that he was picking on her but it was a fight and whoever won went through yet they booed because he showed passion in what he was doing. It was the oddest thing I’ve seen. I don’t get why they’d be like that to someone who was working hard to do what they want to do.

I do like Uraraka and I think she did a much better job then I thought she would but it wasn’t surprising that she lost in the least.

Her phone call to her dad was sweet at the end, its nice again to see them encouraged in defeat by people that mean something to them.

That and then Kaminari won his arm wrestling match against Tetsutetsu which was just as fun as the bits of their match we saw. I guess it shouldn’t be surprising that Kaminari won seeing he’s in Class A and Tetsutetsu isn’t. I’m guessing he’s up against Katsuki in the second round which isn’t going to go well for him.

Next episode though is the big one. Midoriya vs Todoroki. I can’t see how Midoriya is going to lose to him, he can’t use his power to any great length, if Todoroki who looks like he’s recovered from the first round does the same thing then Midoriya will have to use probably the only part of his attack to free himself. Logically it should be quite a easy match so I guess we’re waiting to see what ridiculous thing All For One comes up with next.

Talking of All For One, Endeavour seems to have worked out that Midoriya is similar to All Might as well. It’ll be interesting to see if father or son figures out the secret. I really don’t like Endeavour at all but you can tell where Todoroki gets his brains from.
