PWA 2016 IN REVIEW
Its been a rollercoaster of a year for PWA, they’ve had the highest of highest and the lowest of lows but have come out of it pretty well. I can’t tell you enough how this company pretty much saved my life in 2015 and without them I would never have gone to a single Pride or LEP show let alone plan on going to a million others in 2017.
Never making it easy for themselves they struggle up a mountain and should be extremely proud of the talent that they have who helped them reach the top by the end of the year and ended 2016 on a high. You can fault them for a lot of things, and I’m sure people will, but you can’t fault their fighting spirit which made them a must see event in the closing months of 2016.
The only problem is there is never enough and never gonna be enough of PWA.

PWA MOMENT OF THE YEAR
Two events from the Anniversary show. First up TYLER HAWKE winning the championship which was so well deserved and such a emotional moment for him and his fans. Then EDDIE RYAN vs DREW GALLOWAY in a match I never thought I’d see and in which I personally think Eddie Ryan proved beyond a doubt that he’s one of the top talents of this country. Two very good matches from the anniversary show and even though Ryan didn’t win both matches made the fans extremely proud.
PWA CHAMPION OF THE YEAR
Well it has to be TYLER HAWKE. The other titles really haven’t played a part, Grayson Reeves is only just starting to bring the British Championship to the attention of the fans but Tyler Hawke would probably have won out anyway as he has been a great champion for PWA and has had some wonderful matches to not only defend it but to get there in the first place!
PWA SHOW OF THE YEAR
Has to be the closing show of the year SHOWDOWN. They ended the year with such a bang not only with a change of champion (booo) but just by showing how they could create stories that people cared for with not even half the shows as some of the other companies down here. They had their best out with The Kings Court, Tyler Hawke, Eddie Ryan and JD Knight, moved stories on and created new ones and from the moment the show started till the very end just put their whole heart into what they were doing. It was a fantastic show and one of the best PWA shows I’ve ever seen.
PWA WRESTLER OF THE YEAR
It has to be JASON KING. The man has entertained all year round, by far one of the most memorable men every show with such a great character. Every match he’s in is incredible and he has so much talent that even if you don’t like him you’ll love seeing him in the ring. He’s had some amazing matches and great moments, guy has nailed it all year long. The man seemingly can do no wrong when he steps into the wrestling ring.
PWA have been through a lot all year round but the great thing is they just keep trudging on and as they continue to move forward they improve. Moving from Stonehouse was a gamble which is starting to pay off, they had some questionable moments in the middle of the year but started it and ended it on a high. They have the PWA is a family thing going on and they live by that, from the moment you start to queue for the show till the very end everyone in the building remembers you, treats you like your part of this family and just has a laugh. I can’t really describe it but going to their shows is like catching up with family with some amazing wrestling thrown in.
2017 is gonna be another test for them, they have to keep the momentum going but keep evolving. At one point I didn’t think they could do it but now I’m 100% sure that they’ll go from strength to strength this year and by the end of the year will be even better. I just hope they never lose the heart they’ve worked so very hard to build this year which keeps us regulars coming back for more and which has endeared them to newer fans who seem to be eager to come back for more.
