So Personally?

My favorite so far in the spirit of the show is Mark, he’s doing the steps as well as putting on a performance. And he’s doing the dances pretty well! I really think for a big man he’s doing well and he is never going to be the best dancer out there but he does what Iveta gives him and does it well. I wish I could dance like he does!

Other than Mark I think a lot of the people you wouldn’t think would do well are actually doing a lot better then you’d think and that I think the judges are giving them credit for! Personally Deborah, Fiona and until her exit Vanessa did really well. Ashley is also doing better than I think they give him credit for. It makes the season more exciting for me as that is why I watch the show.

The best so far is obviously Natalie but I find it boring that there isn’t any room for improvement, like every year there are rumors that she has done ballet before the show and it does show (if true) as she is very good at the more contemporary styled  dances that Artem tends to choreograph which personally I don’t like so she was always on a back foot for me anyway as I never like his dances.

I do prefer seeing couples learn and not be wonderful from week 1, there is much more fun in not knowing one week from the next who will be at the top of the leader board. Unfortunately with Natalie we know the leader board pretty much from the moment the show starts. Susanna, Abbey and Sophie (possibly Ashley) can one week or the next beat Natalie but they aren’t going to challenge her every week come what may.

Talking of Susanna and Abbey I’m going to be controversial and say that I don’t actually like them half as much as the judges seem to. Susanna is alright but I’d say she was average and on par with Sophie more so then you’d have their COMMENTS (maybe not their scores) make you believe, personally for me they spend too much time out of hold at times and some of their dances don’t actually LOOK much like the dance they are meant to be. Abbey I think suffers the same as Natalie, Aljaz’s dances look like Artem Mark II and I haven’t enjoyed them so far, I also find Abbey (unlike Natalie who is lovely) difficult to like, her face looks so harsh. For me dancing is why I vote but if I don’t like the “best” dancer (this is obviously whether I agree or not) I’m not going to vote. At all. I won’t actually vote for the lesser dance but I won’t vote for the “best” one either.

So far I’ve been voting for midtable dancers that I enjoy so a mixture of Mark, Deborah, Fiona, Ashley and once Sophie who I do enjoy watching.

My favorite dances so far has been Mark’s Tango, anything danced by Dave and Sophie’s Charleston.

Sorry there was a LOT of information and not much opinion on that but we’ll have a better blog up on the weekend for week 4! (Well at the latest sometime on Monday!)
